This is a daily quote journal thing that I hope will offer quotes you're unlikely to have heard before, not the staples of Bartlett's or Thought for the Day. Partly I've done this to push myself to the unambitious goal of finding at least one interesting new thing each day, although I may quote things that aren't new to me if they seem striking or apropos. Mostly it will be something I've read, but I may quote from film, TV or radio, song lyrics, or conversations I've been involved in or overheard.
If I feel like expatiating on the day's quote, I'll do so in my regular journal,
